  1. Supporting AT Use in Arizona Schools AzTAP is a program of the Institute for Human Development at Northern Arizona University

Historical Perspective: Relationship Building • Arizona Department of Education (ADE) had history of contracting for AT related services: • Circa 1990 contract in place with NAU for AT related services for assessments • 1997 ADE RFP for AT Training/TA statewide  awarded to nonprofit organization • Since 2000 , ADE provided $$ support for AzTAP’s AT Conference • 2005 ADE hired its own AT coordinator and decided to EXPAND and bring program back in house • 2006 AzTAP was asked to create/manage an AT Loan Library • 2007 political winds shifted @ ADE  new Special Ed leadership, less territoriality, increased collaboration

Manage the ADE Short term Loan Library • Develop policies and procedures • Collaborate with ADE to identify ongoing equipment needs • Categorize and store devices • Maintain inventory in proper working order • Vendor collaboration • Data collection and reporting • Collaborate with ADE to monitor program outcomes Contract: Interagency Service Agreement Scope of Work

Key Program Elements • Eligibility: LEAs, Charter Schools (no private or BIE schools) • Fees: None (late fees/repair charges may apply) • Device Request Process: in writing via email or fax • Length of Loan Period: 4 weeks • Shipping /Timeframes: ship within 48 hrs. via Fed Ex • Website with searchable equipment inventory • Vendor Rental Program • Support & Assistance for borrowers • Collaboration with: • ADE AT Specialists • with AzTAP Device Loan Program
