  3. Pollution? Pollution is the introduction of contaminants into an environment that causes instability disorder harm or discomfort to the ecosystem i.e. physical systems or living organisms .

  4. Causes of pollution The pollution comes from two souses. • Natural source • Foreign source

  5. Categories/types of pollution. Pollution is divided into following categories. • Air pollution • Water pollution • Soil pollution • Noise pollution • Light pollution • Visual pollution

  6. Pollution problem in Pakistan • Air pollution • Water pollution • Land pollution • Noise pollution

  7. Vehicles exhaust fumes that pollute the air.

  8. Industries give out the harmful gases(Sulphur dioxide and carbon monoxide)

  9. Water pollution Causes of water pollution • Industrial water • Oil spill incident in sea • Leakage in pipe lines

  10. Effect of water pollution • Marine life in danger • Respiratory diseases in people living near sea.

  13. Effect of noise pollution. • The blood pressure can increase during exposure to the noise • Adverse effect on the human behavior (Stress).

Solution to the pollution problem in Pakistan • Here are a few solution problem in Pakistan Solution for air pollution. • Instead of using private car We should use public transport. • There should be a greenbelt constructed in big cities such as Karachi • We should unleaded petrol in our vehicles. • Most of the leading car manufacture should install the catalyst converter in their vehicles.

Solution for water pollution. • The factory waste should be filter fist and then disposed properly into sea or river. • Instead of using clean water we can use filtered industrial water for flushing toilets, washing the car and watering the plant. • The government should ask the citizens to proper clean the beach once in year. • There should be fine in people who throw their waste in river or sea. • The government should pass strict laws concerning this issue. • We should cooperate with one an other to save marine life.

Solution for land pollution • Instead of throwing rubbish away we can give some of it for recycle • We reuse polythene bags for caring things. • There should be land fill area where the rubbish can be disposed off. • The government should place the garbage canes and bins. • All the shop keeper should use the paper bags in stead of the polythene.

Only 65% of population has access to safe drinking water (85 % urban and 55% rural) • 20000 rural settlements have no facilities at all Source is mostly ground water except in some big cities In saline g/water areas canal water is used for drinking • Limited availability inequity in water distribution and system losses have reached alarming proportions • Sanitation facilities available to 42 % of population(65% • urban and 30%rural)
