  2. “TO DO” LIST • Log in to Naviance Student to update your profile and resume • Sign the FERPA Form • Match CA to Naviance • Update Email and CHECK Regularly • If Athlete, Register with NCAA--http://www.ncaa.org/student-athletes/future/how-register

  3. To Do List (cont.) • Review your DEADLINES • Contact Teachers for Recommendations • Request Transcripts— First 3 are free; $5.00 thereafter. Exceptions: Scholarship apps/NCAA • Request Test scores be sent to colleges- (Collegeboard and ACT) • Clean up internet image (Facebook, Instagram, email, etc.)

  4. KNOW The PROCESS • Common Application, Coalition, Direct to Institution (save all passwords) • Requesting Transcripts • Self-Reported Grades • Sending Test Scores (When, Who) • Deadlines • Essays • Letters of Recommendation (Naviance Student): Teachers/Counselors (what’s required)

  5. Getting into NAVIANCE • https://student.Naviance.com/patriot • User ID is STUDENT NUMBER • PASSWORD IS date of birth with no spaces, ex (01221997) • Students in grades 10-12 MUST use Naviance Student for ALL transcripts • You must have a signed FERPA form turned in to request your transcript.

Types of Admission • Traditional– apply by a given date, notified in the spring • Open/Rolling– Apply anytime, notified in a few weeks • Early Action– Apply early, notified early…can accept or decline • Early Decision– Apply early, notified early… you must accept offer and withdraw all others!

  9. Narrowing your choices… • Apply to 3 – 6 schools (generally) • Don’t put all of your eggs in one basket!! • Apply to a variety of schools!
