  8. Every day the Department of Social Services is faced with the problem of placing children outside of their homes and their community as they sort out the problems in the family

  9. Each Child must then adjust to … a new home new friends a new school • a new community

  10. STAND… then WALK … in THEIR shoes…..

  11. Who’ll walk with me? The Shoe Project or The Bróg Project (the Gaelic word for shoe is Brog)

  12. Our Mission To develop resources for each child who requires placement outside of the home within his /her community

  13. Using a multidisciplinary approach and drawing on the existing and developing resources of the community, our primary goal is to enable each child to experience….

  14. The continuity of… family community education while the issues that necessitated placement are addressed

  15. Walking in the shoes of each child and trying to vision the challenges from his/her point of view

  16. We recognize the importance of seeing each child and his/her experience as unique.
