Shipping Instructions An Overview • Main points: • A document prepared by exporter and sent through his shipping and forwarding agent(货运和货运代理人) to the shipowners(船主) giving them directions and detailed information concerning the consignment. • Shipping documents certain documents ,which, under system known as documents for collection are sent by an exporter’s bank to the bank’s branch or agent in the importer’s country, who deliver them to the importer when he pays or accepts a bill of exchange

Shipping Instructions An Overview • Main points: • The shipping documents consist of: commercial export invoice; bill of landing; forwarder’s receipt(运输代理行收据); consignment note(发货通知); insurance policy; insurance certificate(保险证书); and, if necessary, certificate of origin; consular invoice(领事发票); weight certificate; sanitary certificate; letter of hypothecation(质押证书); export license. Most if not all(大多数而不是全部) these documents are needed by the importer to obtain delivery of the goods, to clear them through customs and to claim on insurance if they are lost or damaged.

When negotiating purchase contracts for goods exported from our country, the French importers are at liberty to decide on whatever trade terms they may wish to take so far as insurance is concerned.
