  1. Losses and fabrication tolerances S. Verdú-Andrés June 10, 2014

  2. SPS DQWCC - Interfaces RF-seal copper ring gasket for all the ports. Distance from cavity center. Includes anomalous effect of copper at cryo temperatures (Rs 0.008 Ohm) and surface roughness effects on surface resistance (x1.3). Are all the gaskets at cryo temperature?

  3. SPS DQWCC – Dissipated power at 3mm Cu gasket • BEAM PORT FLANGE CONNECTION Value corresponding to gasket position at 270mm (270273mm) • Anomalous effect of copper at cryo temperatures (Rs 0.008 Ohm) and • surface roughness effects on surface resistance (x1.3). FPC and beam pipe: fine hexa mesh (100/80) CST simulation "F:\CST\DQWCC for SPS\FPC Design - Revisited\SPS-EDQWCC_Finalization - TunedV16f nFPC-19 - FineMesh.cst"

  4. SPS DQWCC – Dissipated power at 3mm Cu gasket • FPC PORT FLANGE CONNECTION • Anomalous effect of copper at cryo temperatures (Rs 0.008 Ohm) and • surface roughness effects on surface resistance (x1.3).

  5. SPS DQWCC – Dissipated power at 3mm Cu gasket • Pickup FLANGE CONNECTION • Anomalous effect of copper at cryo temperatures (Rs 0.008 Ohm) and • surface roughness effects on surface resistance (x1.3).

  6. SPS DQWCC – FPC hook design • (5 May 2014) Power dissipation with ACE3P: 141W and Qext = 5.39 e5 • Revisit FPC design: • Increase coupling by making hook wider – multipacting • - Other suggestions? • Multipacting studies, thermal studies • Fabrication tolerances: penetration, rotation, etc. • HFSS simulation with surface loss density for FPC hook version presented in the Review is ready. Does it seem convenient to study thermal?

  7. SPS DQWCC – Fabrication Tolerances The two most sensitive geometry parameters for the cavity are height and waist, which gives 0.5% and 0.3% change in frequency with 1 mm of fabrication error.

  8. SPS DQWCC – Fabrication Tolerances (*) Cavity with no tubes (**) Cavity with no tubes. Model must be modified to sweep the parameter under study so that more than one parameter does not change with the sweep. (***) Cavity with tubes.

  9. SPS DQWCC – Frequency check points Generated for frequency check points before operation in SPS. The cavity will operate at 400.79 MHz under 2 K.
