  5. Where?

  6. Where? Three-Country Pilot goal is to investigate how far on an operational level (mobile) communication facilities of the TETRA-based technologies are sufficient regarding cross-border cooperation between the several organisations for public order and safety and the dispatching rooms in the border region Aachen, Zuid-Limburg and Liège.

  13. Why C2000 Analogue Systems • End Life of Type (no more development i.e. paging for • firebrigades); no perspective for the future • Maintenance more costly (no spare parts, less qualified personel) • In emergency situations there is no communication between • the systems of the public safety users • No support of business processes (Voice and Datatransmission) • Change from Analogue to Digital

  14. Why C2000 Cooperation between public safety users • Bijlmerramp (El-Al Airplane) • Enschede (Firework industry) • Volendam (Fire in a local pub) • Elfstedentocht • Euro2000 • Cooperation between countries • Schengen • Catastrophies (Three Nation Pilot) • Change from Mono usersystems to • Multi usersystems

  15. Why Tetra Central questions • Open Standard or Supplierstandard Tetra or Tetrapol • Professional or Commercial System Tetra or GSM/UMTS • Coverage • Nationwide coverage (C2000) or • Partial Coverage (Airwave) • Coverage for Mobiles (Germany) or • Coverage for Handhelds (C2000)

  16. Why Tetra • Which frequency • 380-400 MHz (NATO) or 900/1800 MHz • Privat network or Public network • Government Owned-Government Operated C2000 • (GO-GO) • Government Owned-Company Operated ASTRID • (GO-CO) • Company Owned-Company Operated AIRWAVE • (CO-CO)
