  2. Who is NEF? • Involve community in assuring a quality education for tomorrow’s leaders • Dedicated to providing resources to enable all students to work at their highest potential • Support and recognize teachers for innovative efforts and exemplary teaching

  3. Innovative Teaching Grants • 15 years • Awarded 456 grants to teachers • Over $1,309,602.71 into the classroom

  4. 2014 Grant Brigade February 14, 2014 • 16 campuses, 34 recipients • $103,408.20 to NISD classrooms

  5. Grant Funding 2012-2013 NISD staff raised - $53,000 2013-2014 $106,000 available for grants Historically, NEF has matched staff donations with community donations.

  6. District Initiatives • Back to School Supply Drive • New Teacher Luncheon • Gold Card Luncheon • Faith-Based Rally • United Way Kick-off • Techno Expo • Connections Luncheon • Inspire Celebration • NEW in 2013-2014 • NEF is giving $49,000 • for community outreach programs

Shining Stars Recognition Each year, the Northwest ISD Education Foundation recognizes the best of the best from the graduating class of Northwest ISD. • Distinguished Scholars (based on GPA) • 25 Byron Nelson High School Seniors • 25 Northwest High School Seniors • 2 Steele Accelerated High School Seniors • Distinguished Achievers (based on outstanding accomplishment in a particular subject area) • 5 Byron Nelson High School Seniors • 5 Northwest High School Seniors • 1 Steele Accelerated High School Senior 2013 Shining Star – Amelia Jamieson Steele Accelerated High School
