  2. Basic info • She was born in Amherst, Massachusetts On December 10 1830. • She was a recluse and hardly left her house. • Her friends barely ever saw her they only wrote to each other.

  3. Her poetry • She wrote nearly 1800 poems. • Her work was published after her death. • Dickinson's poems are unique for the era in which she wrote; they contain short lines, typically lack titles, and often use slant rhyme as well as unconventional capitalization and punctuation.
