Lactic Acid and Delayed Onset Muscle soreness

Lactic Acid and Delayed Onset Muscle soreness. Observation 1: High levels of lactic acid in frogs interfered with muscle contractions Observation 2: Lactic acid was produced through anaerobic glycolysis. Observation 3: Muscles became more acidic during extreme exercise. . + H +. Lactate.

  2. Lactic Acid and Delayed Onset Muscle soreness Supposedly: Lactic acid produced during high intensity exercises causes acidosis, decreasing the pH, causing DOMS. 50 years later its found reaction that supposedly made lactic acid consumes H+, doesn’t produce it. + OH- + H2O Lactic Acid Lactate Current Belief of Lactic Acid: Assist muscle polarization, provides fuel for muscles, increases mitochondrial biogenesis. In other words it really helps!!! -
