  4. Review: RestaurantTypes

  5. Restaurant Etiquette • Remember your table etiquette • Remember you are not the only ones in the restaurant • Paying the bill • Tipping

  6. Rewind • We know about acting right at the table • How about social etiquette? • http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1jLauCJU7h8

  7. Paying for your food • Your waiter or waitress provided you with a service • It is social norm to tip • What is tipping? (Not cow tipping) • How much do we tip? • During a dinning experience it is not acceptable to fumble in your wallet • Have the money you expect to spend ready before going out or bring a card

  8. Tipping • https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bSMo0FQiI3E • So when tipping you still do not want to fumble with your money or phone to determine the amount you want to tip

  9. How to tip • I went to a lovely steak house and like my server. As a result , I plan to tip 20% of my bill • If my bill was $50 dollars this is how I would calculate the tip without a calculator: • Move the decimal point over 1 ($50~$5) • This is 10% -Multiple by 2 to get 20% or $10 for the tip • If I wanted to tip 15% half the 10% ($2.50) and add to the 10% cost • Any questions?
