  1. What Your Lunch Snack at Work Should Be

  2. Having a lunch snack these days is a challenge especially since the not-so healthy ones seem more attractive and alluring than actually healthy ones. In fact, once you step out of your office building in search of food for your lunch, it is so easy to just buy a big, fatty greasy burger coupled with some oily fries and carbonated drink from the nearby pub instead of walking a mile further to the organic food store filled with better lunch options.

  3. If you always find yourself with such few choices for lunch, then you definitely should dedicate your weekend by preparing your food so that when the weekday comes, you do not have to be constrained to buy what is convenient and not what should be a good source of nutrition for your body.

  4. A salad alone will never be as satisfying for lunch especially since your daily greens must be coupled with a protein-source such as fish or meat. If you do want to have salad for your lunch, you can couple it with some salmon or tuna and throw in a fruit for your healthy snack right after.

  5. There are days when we take our green leafy veggies for granted, and the only time we realize we are lacking our daily green intake is when we finally feel sick after all the munching of greasy and fatty lunch food. An apple after a satisfying salad for lunch can make you feel full and energized as apples are found to provide a good amount of carbohydrates and natural caffeine.

  6. A power sandwich, which consists of wheat bread, Swiss cheese, and seasoned chicken breast coupled with fresh orange juice, can also qualify as a healthy snack you can enjoy during your lunch break. You might want to throw in a natural marinara sauce that you can make in less than 10 minutes in your own kitchen for that added spice to your sandwich.

  7. If you want to go a little more adventurous, you can go for a burger made of spicy chicken breast with your favorite choice of greens, tomatoes, jalapenos and for a twist, a ring or two of pineapples to balance out the spiciness of your meat.

  8. However, if you want to dedicate your heavy meals towards the end of your day, you can enjoy lunch hour with a healthy snack such as dried fruits, air popped popcorn, a low-calorie granola bar, dark chocolate covered raisins or your favorite greaseless peanuts. Indulging in energy shakes can also be a good idea granted that you will not overload your serving with sweeteners no matter how organic or low calorie it is as stated in the box. Going consciously healthy with your daily food intake is not difficult today since stores and markets have a lot of good options for us to choose from.

  9. Also, with a little bit of creativity on our part, we can certainly come up with dishes and snacks that are not only nutritious but also delicious to our palates. To turn into a daily calorie watcher may be a pet peeve to your lunch buddies, but you can quit that habit soon with the many healthy snack options available.
