PROBLEMS AND OBSTACLES • Access to information on statistics on labor and employment, • heterogenity of the data sources, • inaccurate account of workers, • definitions and classes, • movement of people employed by forestry, • many different agreement, contracts etc., • unofficial job relations, • lack of relevant surveys and research.

CASE STUDY The Forest of Slovak Republic, state enterprise • The largest organization of forestry • The main aim: to manage forest and other property in the ownership of the Slovak Republic • Stand area 1 002 677 ha ( 84.5 % of state forests; 51.9 % of all forests) • 3-level management structure: • The first – basic level of management consists of forest districts • The second management level consists of forest enterprises (26 Branch Enterprises) • The third management level consists of the headquarter – general directorate • Project of transformation of the state enterprises to the state stock company
