  20. Other Ideas Sponsor a grant for teachers. http://www.independence.k12.oh.us/pages/pto/?page_id=110 Offer to write a grant for a school, a teacher or an administrator. Mariann Bellai example http://www.mhopus.org/teachers.asp Develop a grant writing/searching team.
  21. Grant Alphabet Soup RFP – Request for Proposal In-kind Contribution An in-kind contribution is a non-cash input which can be given a cash value. Here are some examples of in-kind contributions: A local community “loans” a school or a church to a literacy program for classroom space. A government agency donates some paper to print books. A consultant donates his time to your program. A bus company donates the use of bus at no cost or at a cost below market.
  22. Grant We don’t write grants, we receive them. We write a proposal for funding. Award Formal notification that you are receiving the funding.
  23. Remember… Grant writing is one way for a parent/guardian to be “involved” without leaving home. (J. Epstein) It’s all about the kids!
