  3. 1. Introduction ● Since late 1990`s ->Lots of high-rise building has been built in Korea ● It creates many micrometeorological impacts ->due to turbulence from nearby high-rise building ● It need the careful and accurate impact assessment -> for keeping the quality of life of residents -> lives in high densely developed urban areas

  4. ● In foreign countries, -> The building wind impact assessment is done as a guideline before building construction. ●In Korea, no assessment in Ministry of Environment Only Seoul City Government ->to assess building wind impact ●So far there has been no conceivable impact by lots of skyscraper construction. ● It needs to be checked whether no impact irrespective of skyscraper construction -> keep - quality of life for urban residents.

  5. ● The purpose of this study -> To review the current guideline ->to confirm whether it has been assessed exactly or not -> to investigate the improvement of current building wind impact assessment guideline in Korea.

  9. 3. Materials and Methods ●study site ->Shincheon-dong, Songpa-gu & Euljiro-dong, Jung-gu, Seoul. ●It is composed of ->Tall buildings, traffic congestions ● New constructions -> Residential-Commercial Complex Apartments ( 123m. 117m, Shincheon), (148m,Euljiro)

Discussion ● Wind speed not real data ->used 3 day observed data (x the whole year ) ● When the model input data -> the mean wind speed input where is not the maximum wind velocity ● Problem of Resolution densely built area, 8m->too coarse ● Model selection problem ->(ENVI-met) max. # of cells -> 25 Because this CFD model is designed for low-rise building in Germany, not for skyscrapers in Korea

  22. 4. Conclusions 1) The Wind speed at Shincheon area and Euljiro area ->Neglectable change -> abrupt increase 2) Seoul Government building wind EIA ->Resolution should be finer Wind speed data should be higher Model should handle large volumes of data
