  2. Overview Aim - To develop strategic and mutually beneficial R&I partnerships in ICT between the EU and the EECA countries. Objective - To strengthen the links and boost cooperation among the research and industrial communitiesof both regions to exploit emerging opportunities for international partnerships and jointly address common societal challenges.

Objectives • Increase awareness on emerging opportunities for international collaboration under R&I programmes in EU & the EECA countries • Organise info-days and training sessions in all EECA countries • Set-up an on-line Help Desk and offer hands-on support • Support Collaboration among research and industrial actors from both regions in 4 ICT areas: • Big Data, Software and Services • Interactive Content, Media and Creative industries • High Performance Systems • Photonics • Facilitate Policy Dialogue to overcome barriers and jointly address common societal challenges • Mapping EECA ICT R&I priorities in H2020 • Organise policy/consultation meetings

Opportunities for EU-EECA collaboration • Face-2-face meetings @ ICT Proposers’ Day 2014 (9-10/10/2014, Florence, Italy) • 1st Networking event (12/11/2014, Baku, Azerbaijan ) • Open discussion on the EU-EECA R&I collaboration potential … areas of common interest, research/technological/market trends, emerging opportunities for collaboration, barriers and ways to overcome them, etc.) • Face-to-face meetings among R&I actors from both regions … towards the upcoming H2020 Calls • On-line database with EECA R&I teams’ profiles (soon to be launched at http://www.eeca-ict.eu)
