  2. The Purpose of the Conference The Zooming Out for a Global View Conference is a student global issues conference for high school students. It is an opportunity to learn about sustainability issues affecting local and global communities as well as: A chance for high school students to interact with Texas A&M students/faculty and guests A great resume booster or discussion topic during an interview A way to give back to society through education

  5. Each student attended a breakout sessions centered around one of three topics. These breakout sessions focused on the topic from both a local and global perspective. Environmental Sustainability Water Shortages and Depletion of Nonrenewable Resources Economic Sustainability: How globalization has affected our economy and the economies of other countries Societal Sustainability: Poverty abroad and at home Breakout Sessions
