Maps the host database’s searching and retrieval capability on to the Z39.50 Profile. The reference system hold indexes to be able to respond to the user’s queries, without reference to the local DB. • Metadata system (Dublin Core) Querying or retrieving various type of digital documents is executede directly at metadata level.
