  3. Forensic Science – Monday • End of the year plans • Revisit where we were at with our passive drops lab. • Grade Check-ins/Finish passive drop height lab • Preview of tomorrow – what we will be doing, what we need to get accomplished.

  8. Forensic Science Tuesday, May 7th, 2013 Bell Work Question of the Day: There is a certain club which is for men only. There are 600 men who belong to this club and 5% of these men wear one earring. Of the other 95% membership, half wear two earrings and the other half wear none. How many earrings are being worn in this club?

Forensic Science – Tuesday • Bloom’s Word of the Week: Critique – Detect the appropriateness of a procedure for a given task or problem • Blood Spatter video clip – As we watch the video, pay attention to the tests they are performing, you will be doing the same ones today! • Class List: Information that blood spatter can give us (Post-it 1st) • Lab – How different factors affect shapes of blood spatter. • Key things to remember: • This lab is split into questions. You will have 6 minutes to write down the question, find the answer, and add information to the class chart. • After the 6 minutes are up, we will discuss our findings as a class. Make sure you write down the class conclusion on your sheet • There are no right or wrong ways to find your answers, if you are stuck and don’t know what to do, you can ask a neighboring group, or Mrs. O • Reflection

Answer the following question: Out of all the investigation techniques we have studied so far in this class (Fingerprinting, eyewitnesses, hair analysis, drug analysis, blood spatter analysis, etc.) which do you think would be the most helpful in an investigation? Justify your answer.

There are 3 methods used (Page 270): • Rigor Mortis • Algor Mortis • Livor Mortis • Google search the website: GoAnimate. You will create a short cartoon that shows me you understand the difference between the 3 methods.

  18. Biology – Wednesday • Mechanisms of Evolution Webquest in the computer lab • This assignment is quite lengthy, but you need to focus. You WILL be graded on what you get done today. It is possible to complete most of the worksheet if you use your time wisely. Sit next to people you will be able to concentrate by. You all need to turn in your own sheet.
