  4. Barriers • fragmented institutional approaches • immaturity of key technologies and standards • fragmentation of policy approaches • insufficient integration of digitisation actions in the European Knowledge economy

  5. Organisation • led by 3 successive presidencies • chair NRG • monitor implementation plan • maintain contact with the Commission and other bodies (Council of Europe, UNESCO etc) • report on progress to the Council

  6. Role of NRG • promote implementation of the Dynamic Action Plam • monitor progress • define financial and logistical structures for MS to sustain their commitment at a European level • maintain contact • promote recommendations and good practice

NRG roles and responsibilities • consulting national experts, policy makers and politicians • monitoring developments • creating synergy and cross-links between EU Programmes, Networks and Projects • watching emergent technologies, visions, and technological developments • analysing the information, and plan necessary actions and common policies. • developing strategies for dissemination and implementation of results
