  2. 1925 National Library Act gave the Library the legal mandate to collect, care for and provide access to its collections • 2003, 2012 and 2013 legislation expands opportunities and responsibilities to preserve digital content

  3. What’s digital? • > 23 years of digitised content • Born-digital content from the 1980s • 32 million files • 400TB of storage >> 1PB in 2020 • Plus anything digitally published in the UK!!

  4. We have a lot in common • Maximising the benefits of the content we have • Meeting ethical and legal obligations to manage digital information e.g. financial, GDPR • A shared responsibility to create, curate and care for digital culture • We share threats…
