TUL & UVA cooperation • Since 2005 Technical University of Lodz has had a cooperation agreement with University of Virginia. • Each year 5-10 biotechnology students go to virginia for a year-long internship and Master of Science research. • Starting in 2010 one of the laboratories expressed interest in computer science and electrical engineering majors.

  3. Computer Science Internship • 2positions available for current 4th year IFE students. • Internship dates will be negotiable. Likely August 2010 – August 2011. • Students will obtain their research assignments and thesis topics within the first month. • Students will be able to earn ECTS points for the final semester, either through research projects or UVA classes. • Master’s Thesis defence will be conducted in Lodz after the internship ends

  4. Wladek Minor Laboratory Molecular Physiology and Biological Physics Prof. Minor is an author of the 2nd most cited scientifc paper in the world and is the most cited Polish scientist His laboratory prepares software for study of the molecular structures of biological compounds

  5. Who can apply? • 4th year IFE students • Good English skills • Knowledge of SQL • Broad programming experience • Applicants must have all necessary ECTS points from the end of the VII semester (and will have to complete the VIII semester in standard time).

  6. How to apply? • Prepare a CV with a photo and a motivational letter in English • Reference letters from a lecturer, student club supervisor or previous employer are also welcome, but not mandatory

Materka • Final interviews with prof. Minor will be arranged in June
