Information exchanged based on XML over HTPP for web services support. • Web Services: Protocols and technologies used for applications to communicate with each other over web technologies such as HTTP, HTTPS, SMTP, etc. The typical protocols used include XML, SOAP and WSDL. A web service often consists of a number of operations that can be called. • WSDL:Web Services Description Language. An XML- formatted language used to describe a Web service's capabilities (web services) as collection of communication endpoints that can exchanging messages. An open standard for describing the web services interfaces. It’s an XML document used by 3rd party tools to generate service invocation. • XML: eXtended Markup Language. XML is an open standard created by W3C to create common information formats based on symbols and share both the format and the data on the World Wide Web, intranets, and elsewhere. XML is "extensible" because, unlike HTML, the markup symbols are unlimited and self-defining. It uses a similar tag structure as HTML.
