  3. Description of the Ferret • Length:17’’ to 24’’ inches long • Height: 3’’ to 8” tall • Weight: 35-70 grams/ 3-5 lbs.

  5. Temperament • The Ferrets temperament is very good towards mostly everybody. • They also sleep an average of 13 hours a day!

  6. History of the ferret! • The ferret was originally discovered by the ancient Romans. They trained ferrets to run out rabbits from there holes to keep them from destroying and eating crops.

  7. Present Status :( • Ferrets are dwindling to almost endangered numbers. Do to humans and predators.

  9. Defenses/hunting techniques • The only defenses a ferret has are its teeth. However these teeth are extremely strong and sharp causing them to cut through prey like butter! www.arkive.org/black-footed-ferret/mustela-nigripes/video-08.html

  10. Breeding • Do to this animal almost being endangered, scientists have been domestically breeding the ferret. • The average gestation period is 40 to 44 days. • And the average offspring is about 2 offspring a year • But there is no certain season for breeding
