  2. Why Computers? • Important skill • Employment opportunities • Universal • Intellectual development • Immense potential to educate through computers in rural areas where there is lack of good teachers- through CDs, internet.

  3. Why Computers ? • Teach Spoken English • Health Care Education • Teach social sciences…carpentry…plumbing…finance… sciences…history…current global events … about universe- virtually anything • Interactive Communication • Mass Education- real time, saved material

  4. Target Groups • Teach skills and create employment School children Youth Others • Communication with the community

  5. Connecting The Dots • Trainers available • Computers and training equipment - available -Old computers through companies CSR - New and old computers can be bought • Place for training available

  6. What can be done ? • People globally willing to become involved in this field which appears attractive to them • IT companies, educational institutions and organizations should be willing to help. • Village youth trained can start own centers in their houses- financed by bank loans, micro credits etc.

  7. Volunteering opportunities for all ages • Donate educational CDs • Donate educational DVDs • Donate time • Donate money • Donate expertise/ideas • Develop material

  8. Computer Literacy- What we have done in one year ? • Computer lab with 17 stations • Added 12 more computers • Trained almost 400 school kids • Trained about 100 youth • Employment opportunities for 4 youth • Increased Villagers interest
