  2. H Exam board Advice 2011 • Read through the whole question before writing answers. Don’t repeat the same point. • Highlight command words along with any other key words in the questions, and write answers which are relevant to the question asked; • Use the mark allocations in brackets as a guide to the amount of detail or number of responses required. • Answer 1 to 2 mark questions quickly. Do not spend too much time. • Be specific, be focused. Do not include all facts about the chosen topic or area. • Use geographical terminology. E.g. names of physical processes, incorporating them to show understanding • In 4 and 6 marks questions, develop each point wherever possible rather than writing lists of simple, basic points. • Look carefully at all maps, graphs, diagrams and extracts. Use appropriate facts and statistics from resources to back up an answer.Refer to the details, don’t just copy it! • Use case study areas as precisely as possible. E.g. Sagmatha National Park, Nepal rather than The Himalayas. Gangotri Glacier, Rangtok Temple etc
