  2. Use • Certificates of Deposit are like loaning money to a financial institution for a set period of time and getting interest in return. The higher the term the higher the rate of interest paid.

  3. Limits to CDs • There are minimum money limits for CDs that vary for the different CDs, some could be $100-$250,000, ETC. • Also you need to set aside time which is limited to you and if you take out the loan before the set time period then you get penalized

  4. More about CDs • The type of investor that will most likely use this fund is one that is young so he/she can be able to claim the money after the set time period is over. • The way to make money on this type of investment is by loaning money to a place and gaining interest on the loan and you will be given the amount you loaned plus the interest.

  5. Economic Climate • The best economic climate this type of investment could work in is when you are low on money and you want a guaranteed increase in money if you are willing to wait the time.

  6. Where to buy CDs • Certificates of deposit can be purchased at banks, thrift institutions, and credit unions. • Minimum cost for purchasing CDs vary at different areas, some areas can sell for $100

  7. Risk for CDs and Examples • There is little to no risk when investing in CDs. It is a slow but sure way to gain money.
