  1. QEv Centre, current status, new developments • Daily BIAS & GROSS ERRORS of TA, FF & DD and TIMELINESS of each aircraft (as BODY.TXT, also possible as XLS) • Monthly OVERVIEW of TRENDS of BIAS of TA, FF & DD based on the daily's [refreshed every 3-7 days for an actual trend] as XLS + fig.s; TBD: Timeliness • Quarterly EVALUATION with statistics (amount, averages, standard dev.) and gross errors reports + timeliness for a three months period + logistics and operational issues + special studies (analyses) for further R&D E-AMDAR TAG-6

  2. Status Quo • High degree of automation, low personal costs • Focus on QEv - user interface, to stimulate feed-back (however feed back from operators to QEv is minimal-will not stimulate improvements) • Daily data-set + Applications and actual "Monthly" XLS provide a "help yourself" utility • Technical coordinator (ST) take care for direct action, if necessary • Quarterly reports informs on the overall status of the E-AMDAR systems and provide case issues triggering improvements. E-AMDAR TAG-6

  3. Possible developments • Automatic messaging (by QEvC to operators) • Additional applications (local by operators): N x (e.g.. 10) daily TXT  XLS with selected aircraft Application (XLS) + macro linked to N XLS  trend in TA, FF, DD & timeliness E-AMDAR TAG-6

  6. Outside HIRLAM area: other background • Instantaneously (real time: availability of actual background), every 3H refresh (2x to Ev. delayed data) • Input: lat, lon, alt + UTC  TA, FF, DD E-AMDAR TAG-6

  8. Criteria The critical (absolute) margins used for selecting entries are: ·         Air Temperature: |TA(O)-TA(B)| 0,5 C (0,5 K) ·         Wind speed: |f(O)–f(B)| 2,0 m/s ( 4 Knots) ·         Wind direction: |d(O)–d(B)| 20  (Degrees) No criterion is stated concerning standard deviations. 11. Gross errors For a number of observations extreme temperature differences were observed: Aircraft with occasionally extreme temperature differences (T > 20 K) are: EU1035, EU2405, EU3421, EU7864 and EU8736. E-AMDAR TAG-6
