  1. 5 – JESUS TEACHES ME TO THANK HIM THE 10 LEPERS (Luke 17:11-19) Jesus went to different cities to preach about the KINGDOM of HEAVEN

  2. At a village: “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!” WHO ARE THESE MEN? • They were 10 lepers … with skin disease – they had to live separately from everyone else! • Jesus loved them: “Go, show yourselves to the priests” • WHY? • To be declared “CLEAN” and return to their families

  3. The 10 lepers believed in Jesus! • They went & showed themselves to the priests • On the way, they were healed … their skin went back to normal! • They were soooooo happy!

  4. BUT … • Most of them did not do a very important thing: • THANK GOD! • EXCEPT… ONE! • 1 came back, knelt at Jesus’ feet and said: “THANK YOU”! • WHERE WERE THE OTHER 9?

  5. The 9 lepers went away without thanking God • Jesus was very sad, but was very happy with the one leper • The man was a Samaritan, other 9 were Jews (Jews & Samaritans were enemies) • “Arise, go your way. Your faith has made you well.”

  6. WHAT A BLESSING! • This man was healed from leprosy AND have his sins forgiven • Whoever thanks God, will enjoy His love & mercy even more! • The church teaches us to start all our prayers with the PRAYER OF THANKS GIVING

  7. “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving,” Philippians 4:6

  8. WHY THE 9 LEPERS DIDN’T THANK GOD … • May be they think that because Jesus is God, He knows they are thankful – they don’t need to say it • They made excuses: Jesus only told us to go to the priests and nothing else • They have to share the good news with so many others, they will thank God later • Other excuses …

  9. DON’T YOU BE LIKE THEM! • Run back to God to thank Him right away! • Don’t make any excuses • God has many more blessings for you • Show Jesus how much you appreciate His gift!
