  1. Removal of lead from water by using pure CNTs

  2. Metal ion pollutants such as lead are known to bring serious disorders to human being and society at large if it is not being treated properly. Several approaches including chemical precipitation, cementation, filtration, membrane separation, ion exchange, reverse osmosis and adsorption, have been used to remove lead from wastewater. Adsorption is reported to be the most common method to be used due to its simplicity and cost-effectiveness. Carbon Nanotubes (CNTs) are reportedly being used to remove heavy metals including lead.

  3. Thus, this research was conducting to evaluate the capacity of Carbon Nanotubes for the adsorption of lead from water. Carbon Nanotubes was found to be efficient for the adsorption of Pb (II) in aqueous solution. • Percentage uptake increased with an increased in pH from pH 3 to 5 and decrease as it exceeds pH 5. The optimum pH found in this study is pH 7 in which it gave 87% removal of Pb (II) ions from aqueous solution.
