  1. EUROCAE WG-78 / RTCA SC-214 WP 1 Sub-Group Maastricht, 8-12 June 2009 WP1 Progress Report

  2. Resolution of WP1 Remaining issues • Consistency between Interoperabilty and SPR • Inter centre transfer: Use of “STANDBY” upon receipt of downlink message before ground enabling CPDLC • Role of ground TTs Time-out • Frequency Change Management in D-TAXI (vs ACM) • OPA Issues : WP1 Meeting Progress report overview • The appliance of RCP in the performance work (On hold since P6) • The ground TTs values (for uplink msgs) -- (No aircraft TTr) • The ground TTr  values (for downlink msgs) --(aircraft TTs remains optional) • The value of the latency time check in the aircraft (safety critical to all FANS and ATN aircraft, when doing CPDLC operations in continental airspace) (Latency value is now fixed in the AC and set at 40s for ER) • Need for Ground Latency Time Check • DCL: Harmonization of the DCL clearance, and of the route clearance • D-TAXI:         New D-TAXI graphic ORs in Maastricht        Timing OSED Graphic Part         Status OHA/OSA/OPA for the graphical part of D-TAXI

  3. ACM Issues • Ground behavior upon receipt of downlink message before ground enabling CPDLC : Multiple choices : • Accept the message and do one of the following : • * When the message permits a response, send UM2 REQUEST DEFFERED followed by message element UM183 [CPDLC TRANSFER IN PROGRESS] and process the message when CPDLC is enabled; or • * When the message permits a response, send UM1 STANDBY followed by message element UM183 [CPDLC TRANSFER IN PROGRESS] and process the message when CPDLC is enabled; or • * Just process the message when CPDLC is enabled; • Reject the message and do one of the following : • * When the message permits a response, send UM0 UNABLE followed by message element UM183 [CPDLC TRANSFER IN PROGRESS – REPEAT REQUEST AFTER COMPLETION]; or • * send an ERROR followed by message element UM183 [CPDLC TRANSFER IN PROGRESS – REPEAT REQUEST AFTER COMPLETION]. • Ground behavior upon receipt of downlink message before ground enabling CPDLC • Confirmation of Monitored Frequency (in case of UM120 Monitor) To be discussed during next Meeting
