  3. Obtain your login ID • Read the agreement. • Fill the form. • Understand “A good password”.

  4. A good password • A good password must be: • between 6 and 8 characters long; BOTH upper and lowercase letters • NOT too easy to guess. E.g. your name, dog’s name, tel., dictionary words, etc. • try not to use the same password for multiple accounts.

  5. Some examples • "Two cats and three dogs go running" can become 2C&3Dgr • "Maybe self-improvement isn't the answer" can become Ms-iitA • "The wheel's a-spinning but the hamster's dead" can become tWasbtHd

  6. Obtain the login ID • Go to CSC 145 (Help desk). • Be sure to take your ONE card with you. • And come back afterward.

  7. About the account • There are print and disk quotas attached your Id. • Print limit is 50 pages for the entire semester. • Log off before leaving the lab. • Problems, difficulties about your id • Contact the help desk

  9. Send an email to your TA • Be sure to send email(s) using your CCID • Logon to U of A webmail: https://webmail.ualberta.ca/ • Send email to: sj@cs.ualberta.ca • Be sure to include: • Your name, course, and lab section • Send a nice short greeting.
