  4. Starting to mate Contents The process of mating starts in normal conditions. The male orangutans will follow the female continuously, in order to get her attention. Sometimes the male will deter the other male orangutans to not approach. This courtship lasts for about 3 to 10 days. After, the female will stop unnoticing the male. Then the male orangutan has NO ROLE in making a baby. The mother will lay a baby herself.

  5. Being born and eating. Contents Like all mammals, a baby orangutan’s life starts in the tummy of it’s mother. It stays in the tummy for about 8 months. Then the baby orangutan will be born. The baby orangutan will drink the mother’s milk for one year. Some babies can eat little solid food. They will get teeth in 4 month but will not use it’s teeth until the age of 6.

  6. Juvenile Contents About at the age of 5 the juvenile will be not fully dependent on it’s mother. It will start to have independence. Even though the orangutan has grown , it’s gender is difficult to be recognized. About when the juvenile is 6 to 8 years old, it will start to build it’s own nest. When it is near the time for it’s mother to have an another baby, the juvenile will start to decrease the time that it spends with it’s mother.

  7. Adult Contents After 9 years since birth the orangutan will enter sub adulthood. The female, at this age will live close to it’s mother. However a male will live further away. The male will occasionally meet it’s mother but will live alone. When a female orangutan is 12 to 15 years old, the mating process has started and it will be time to give birth to her first baby.

  8. Contents Again and Again and again… This is the orangutan’s life cycle. This is a CYCLE which happens again and again. Watch and enjoy this http://youtu.be/IFACrIx5SZ0 video.
