  3. Our Mission To provide the best possible soccer program, one that provides both a safe & enjoyable experience for the all of the participants - especially the children - in our program.

  4. Our Goals (Excuse the pun!) • Our program goals are to: • Provide a safe environment for players, coaches, and referees • Provide instructional support for our coaches • Remain consistent and fair in all we do. • Allow players to develop and grow.

  5. Our Environment IsAlways Child Centered • Good Sportsmanship is always modeled. • Interactions with players • Interactions with opponents • Interactions with referees • Parents • Winning is secondary to encouraging players to do their best. • Team Formation • Field Positions • Playing Time

  6. Scores may be forgotten, but nothing else is. You make the difference… Long after the season ends the memories will remain. The tone and example you set are what your team will remember.

  7. Guidance & Support For Coaches Preseason and During the Season • Division Coordinators • Website • Coaches Clinics Game Day on the Field • Referee Field Coordinators • League Volunteers

  8. Practice, Practice, Practice… • Good Rule of thumb: 8- 10 practices preseason • Practice makes “almost” perfect (teams that practice more do better) • Plan your practices ahead of time • Where to practice • Field Reservations

  9. Unique (or not so unique!) Rules,Regulations, & Suggestions • Dress Code- Wear your coaches shirt and make sure players wear their uniforms • Goal Differential – What’s that? • Referees – Can we argue with them? (Use the RFC!) • Red Cards – Bad for coaches, worse for parents! • Game Results … are always final. • Rain Outs – How do you know? • Publicity – What’s that? • Team Parents • Silent Soccer

  10. …Questions?….
