  3. In planning…. • Have clear objectives • Outcome connected to objective • Know prerequisites and ensure they are specific to lesson plan- is there prior knowledge required? • Appropriate time frame for students to complete work

  4. Advantages of lesson planning • Lesson is organized and allows the teacher to be confident • Promotes learning • Saves time • Outlines achievement for student success • Leaves room for improvements

  5. Other advantages of planning • Identifies what you expect the student to be able to do by the end of the lesson • Defines what you intend to do to make possible • Keeps you focused and on track • Is a record of what the class has accomplished

  6. Educational objectives while planning • What will the student be able to do: • Know- (concept, cognitive) • Do- (skill, psychomotor) • Behavior, attitude, ideas • What teaching method • Learning activities • Type of assessment used

  7. Remember objectives should: • Be specific • Measurable • Attainable • Realistic • Time bound • Provides guidance and practice • Provides feedback
