Introduction to ChildFund Ireland • Long-term sustainable development. • Operations involve; working with community leaders and government; addressing various needs, focussing to a large extent on OVCs... • Results of ChildFund projects include; improved access...and other services specific to children's individual needs. • ChildFund Ireland’s mission statement expresses – “A commitment to working with children, their families and communities in order to develop an enabling environment where children's basic need are met and their rights and promoted and respected.” [2]

Community Action ProgrammeFunded by Civil Society Fund Block Grant propose a 3 year programme which aims to; (i) Strengthen sustainable community support systems ~438,000 people across 5 Partner Countries.. (ii) Expand the capacity of local partners… (iii) Build on families and communities’ capacities…

The Projects • GUINEA (NOV 07) • Integrated Health Project for Vulnerable Children and Women • ETHIOPIA (JUNE 06 & 08) • Sustainable Quality Care and Support for OVCs • Strengthening Local Capacity to Address Child Protection and Gender Based Violence (GBV) • ZAMBIA (FEB 07 & JAN 2010) • MCH Project • MCH– HIV Integrated Project • UGANDA (OCT 06 & JAN 09) • Protecting OVCs • Enhancing HIV prevention through improved Access to Youth Reproductive Health Services and Prevention of GBV • MOZAMBIQUE (AUG 07 & SEPT 09) • Community Action for Vulnerable Children and Families in Inhambane Province & • Manica Province

  6. Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) • Literary Review; DFID, Global Fund, World Bank, IFAD, USAID, CIVICUS, MDF Articles; Laurence Taylor, Esther Mehbrahtu • What is M&E? • Indicators and Objectives • PALS; Logframe Tables • How does M&E work outside of theory?

Methodology Our Methodology for this analysis included: 1) Analysing Annual reports and M&E tables • Result reporting analysed between both. • Assessing M&E System Issues 2) Quantifying Achievement of New and Original Objectives • Speaking to Staff and Observing Organisational Documentation N.B. Verification Issues limit this analysis; can only serve as the basis for further investigation.
