  3. Conservation Tree Planting Program District Cooperates with Kansas Forest Service to Offer Low-Cost Tree and Shrub Seedlings for Use in Conservation Plantings. Orders are Taken From Early December Through May 1, but Order Early to Insure Species Availability.

  4. One Successful EQIP & WHIP Sign-Up • November Application Deadline • Assisted NRCS with Clerical Support • Received 32 EQIP applications for 10,918 Acres • Received 10 WHIP applications for 5,724 Acres * “Data provided was not obtained through Resource Economic Analysis and Planning Division (REAP) and as such is considered preliminary.”

  5. EQIP & WHIP • Funded 7 new contracts in the amount of $357,016 for protecting/enhancing Soil & Water Quality Conservation. • Funded 17 new contracts in the amount of $526,977 for improving Grasslands Health, Vigor, Providing Livestock Water, & Improving Wildlife Habitat (Brush Management, Prescribed Burning, Livestock Water Pipelines, Wells, Tanks, Prescribed Grazing Incentives, & Cross-Fencing) * “Data provided was not obtained through Resource Economic Analysis and Planning Division (REAP) and as such is considered preliminary.”

Conservation Accomplishments • New Conservation Plans Written on 19,612 Acres • Practices Applied to Benefit Soil Quality on 1,122 Acres • Practices Applied to Benefit Water Quality on 8,076 Acres • Practices Applied to Benefit Grazing Lands on 22,851 Acres • Practices Applied to Benefit Wildlife Habitat on 4,875 Acres

  7. 2013 Stewardship WeekApril – May • Theme – Where Does Your Water Shed? • Churches and Educators Take Advantage of the Free Stewardship Materials Offered by the Conservation District.

  8. Spring Wildflower Tour Cancelled For The First Time In 29 Years The Spring Wildflower Tour Was Cancelled. A Very Cold Spring Kept The Spring Showing To A Bare Minimum --Looking Forward To Spring 2014!!

  9. CoCoRaHS Community Collaborative Rain, Hail and Snow Network Recognizing the Importance of Accurate Data Collection and Reporting, the District Acts as County Coordinator for CoCoRaHS.

  10. Water Resources Cost Share Program • Sign-up - April 1 – April 30 • Funds Received July 1 - $17,203.00 • December Re-allocation - $1,784.00

  11. WRCSP Allocations • Livestock Water Developments - $17,203.00 • December Funds Yet To Be Allocated

  12. Non-Point Source Pollution Control Program (NPS) • Fund Allocation - $14,812.00 • Livestock Water Developments-$8,568.00 • On Site Waste System - $6,244.00

  17. E-Waste Trailer District Continues To Support Recycling By Receiving E-Waste And Maintaining Collection Trailer At USDA Service Center.

  18. Poster Contest • Theme - Where Does Your Water Shed? • 229 Entries • 2 Students Placed At The State Level • Gracie Burenheide Received 1st Place At The State Level and Madison Pilkington Placed 2nd At The State Level! Thanks Kids! You Did A Great Job!

  19. Range School Sponsored A Student To Attend The Kansas Grazing Lands Coalition 2013 Mid-Short Grass Range School.
