  2. Volunteering Philanthropy Competition Social Networking Why Join HOSA? HOSA provides its members with a range of opportunities for scholarship and provides access to resources that aid the process of prepping for professional school.

  5. Membership Requirements • Membership Dues ($35 for the semester or $50 for the year, refundable upon completion of 3 BIG Fundraisers) • Attend 4 out of 6 meetings • Complete 15 Hours of HOSA Volunteer hours OR 12 hours and 6 outside hours/charity points • Complete 1 BIG Fundraiser and 2 Small Fundraisers • Attend 3 Social Events • ALL SIGN-UPS THROUGH WEBSITE

  6. Competitions! • National Registration Dues ($20) by October 10th • Scholarships available for National Members ($500-$2000) • Need to know approximate number of people interested. See Grace after the meeting. • State will be March 27th – 29th in San Antonio • Nationals will be in Orlando, FL • MUST BE ACTIVE THIS SEMESTER TO PARTICIPATE

Donors Play • At each meeting, we will be testing a game app to raise money for competitions • Here is a video explaining the process • Please text “txhosa” to 650-319-7142 and follow the prompts to download the app on your smart phone • We will test the game together during the last 5 minutes of the meeting

Upcoming Events • Volunteering • 9/28 NAMI Walk at 7:30 am (Carpool at 6:30) • 10/05 Marathon For Kids at 8 am (Carpool at 7:15 am) • 10/05 Dell’s Children’s at 1 pm (MAX 8 People!, Carpool at 12:15) • Any members interested in volunteering at a Nursing Home see Samantha after the meeting • Social • 10/04 Poker Night at 7 pm (West Campus so no carpool) • Fundraising • BIG:NONE UNTIL NOVEMBER • Small:10/03 and 10/10Pizza Fundraiser inFAC(1/2 hour shifts 11 am – 1 pm) • Dues are DUE by the THIRD Meeting

  10. New Leadership Opportunities • APPLICATIONS DUE TONIGHT! Interview will be next week. • Public Relations Committee • 2 Positions Available (Application and Interview) • Transportation Committee • Limit will be based on number of applicants • Responsible for transportation to a certain number of events • Will receive ½ hour of Volunteer Credit each time • Philanthropy Chair (Application and Interview) • HOSA Representative (Application and Election) • Must have been active for at least 1 previous semester
