When it comes to choosing the right educational path for your child, there are many options available to you. You can choose from a variety of public and private institutions; some of these are faith-based, others are not. 1. Why a Private Elementary School Can be the Most Positive Experience for Your Child When it comes to choosing the right educational path for your child, there are many options available to you. You can choose from a variety of public and private institutions; some of these are faith-based, others are not. However, there is evidence to suggest that a private elementary school can provide a solid foundation for your child through a positive overall experience. Here are some of the reason why. #1 – A Better Academic Challenge One of the primary differences between public and private schools comes down to the very reason why schools exist in the first place – academics. Children go to school to learn, after all. Public schools are often quite large, which means there are often dozens of children in the same classroom with one teacher. That teacher must create a lesson plan that will satisfy the needs of anywhere from 25 to 35 children, regardless of their individual capabilities. Private schools are different because class sizes are smaller. This gives teachers more time to spend with each child to help them develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills. #2 – The Inclusion of Faith-Based Learning While there are plenty of public schools that provide a wonderful, solid education for children, none of these schools can offer a faith-based atmosphere like a private school. Children can attend a private school that suits both their academic and their religious needs, helping them to explore their spirituality alongside their developing critical thinking skills. This helps children grow into successful, well-rounded adults with roots in their faith. #3 – Exposure to the Arts To meet budget requirements set forth by individual school districts, which are often dependent on local taxes and/or state-provided grants, many public schools are cutting out their arts programs. Millions of children no longer have access to art, music, and literary exploration classes in their normal schooldays; they must join extracurricular groups to do this, and only if the school’s budget allows. Private schools may also receive state grants, but they also collect tuition funds, which allows them more funds and more choices when it comes to allocation. As a result, children who attend private school have far more exposure to the arts – and to their creative sides, too. #4 – Value and Moral Development

  2. Last, but most certainly not least, private school offers a better experience to children because it can help them develop morals, values, and the need to be active within their communities. It’s possible to find a private school that shares your family’s sense of values, whether your main interest lies in helping those less fortunate, providing opportunities for minorities, or simply living an apostolic lifestyle and walking with Christ. While public schools do very little to teach values, private schools make it a priority, and they incorporate it into every daily activity. As you can see, private schools offer a better experience for children of all ages for many reasons. These schools are more challenging academically, yet provide better exposure to the arts. At the same time, they allow families to select a learning atmosphere that incorporates your own family values, and they even include faith-based learning for families who strive to do do all things in Christ.
