  3. Making connections making noise • Five Themes: • misconceptions of Jane and Finch • failing and skipping class • lack of youth friendly facilities and activities • issues around drug use • safety • Interconnected • Investigation

  4. What is fresh? • Mentorship program • Offered to grade nines by grade twelves • helps with transition into high school • Helping connect students to each other and school • Students matched based on similar interests/hobbies • Come together to celebrate once a month • Beneficial to both twelves and niners

  5. FRESH Goals: • Making Emery a more welcoming and safe school • Helping to engage students in school and in learning Why is this project important? • Unite students of emery • An effort to keep students in school and address graduation and attendance rates

  7. Target Group Who will the project be aimed at? High school students in the Jane and Finch area How many people will the project target? Min 20 students

  8. Workplan Get feedback from students Meet with principle to present our ideas An assembly at emery with motivational speakers Connecting with Winston LaRose Connecting with sponsors and partners in the community Fundraisers Advertising and recruiting

  9. Resources Sponsors or Partners • Money for activities • Motivational speakers • Connect with Charity to provide us with donations. This may assist us in connecting with businesses • Connecting with community organizations • A fundraiser once a month for the event to provide money for our celebration once a month • Resources in the school: computers, gym, classrooms
