Introduction: What went wrong? • Junior trader working in a financial institution accidentally pressed wrong buttons on his computer • This generated a message on the screens at the stock exchange, claiming that someone wanted to sell £11.5 billion worth of German bonds • The trader’s employers must carry out the transaction, by law
