Summary of Presentation Involvement of Norwegian Firms in IFC Projects since 1956 • Investment Projects • Norwegian Firms as Investors • Norwegian Firms Involved in Other Capacity • Norwegian Financial Institutions as Providers of Syndicated Loans (B-Loans) • Technical Assistance and Advisory Services

Investment Projects • Firms from Norway were involved in 37 committed projects with IFC, worth US$3.3 billion in TPC • As Investors (equity or loans) in 34 projects • Average Size of Norwegian Investor: • US$7.8 million • First Norwegian Investment: • Pulp and Paper (Rio Grande) in Brazil in 1971 (US$76 million TPC) • Largest Norwegian Investors: • Statkraft Anleg (US$25.1 million Equ.) and Eksportfinans (US$29.2 million Loan) in Hyfro-Power Generation in Nepal in 1996 • In some other capacity in the other projects: capital goods supplier, technical partner, etc.

Technical Assistance and Advisory Services (TAAS) What they Provide • TAAS Programs fund feasibility studies, sector studies, capacity building, advisory services on privatization, and assessments of environmental and social impacts of investment projects • TAAS Programs are mostly funded by the international donor community, and implemented through 28 Donor Funded Operations (DFOs) managed by IFC from field offices & HQ How they are Funded & Implemented
