UGC NET Exam: Quick View • Name of exam: University Grant Commission - National Eligibility Test (CBSE NET exam) • Procedure of selection: Written examination • Mode of application procedure: Online • Mode of paper: Offline • Selection criteria: UGC has announced a top 15% rule for NET and JRF Exam. • No. of papers: Three • Paper 1- Teaching aptitude • Paper 2-Opted subject during application procedure • Paper 3- Opted subject. • Career options : JRF/Assistant professor, PSU recruitment • Alternative choice for Lectureship aspirants: State level Eligibility Test (SLET)

Eligibility criteria for UGC NET • Age Limit • JRF(Junior Research fellow): 28 Years • Assistant Professor: No Upper age limit. • Educational qualifications: • at least 55 percent marks in Masters degree • Candidates who have appeared or will be appearing for the Masters degree final year examination.

CBSE NET : Paper 1 • Question type: Objective • No. of questions: 60 • Minimum no. of questions to be attempted: 50 • If you attempt more than 50 question: First 50 questions will be considered for evaluation • Paper 1 is all about: Teaching aptitude, Reasoning ability, Comprehension, Divergent thinking and general awareness. • Marks: 2 marks/ question • Total marks: 100 • Time allotted: 60 minutes
