  1. How To March Like A Pro By Jon

  2. 1. Go outside street or grass will work for practice. You can march anywhere, but practice on the same basic medium that you perform on. Before you Start

  3. Footwear 2. Foot wear is very important is at all possible never go marching without shoes, and any old pair of tennis shoes will work you don’t need the expensive marching shoe until you are ready to perform.

  4. Marching Break Down • Stand with your feet together and facing you are intersecting the yard lines • Put left foot in front of the right it should be 1-2 inches off the ground and your leg needs to be straight this is called OUT * the length of the stride will depend on height

  5. Marching Break Down cont. 3. Set left foot down this is called HIT * Don’t lower yourself in height just set your foot down while keeping leg straight

  6. Marching Break Down Cont.2 4. Roll your left foot from the outside in so the last part of the foot to touches is your big toe as you do this your right foot should be transferring all the weight to the left foot and the right leg will be bent this is called roll

  7. Final Marching Break Down 5. Now it is time for the right foot to move, you will bring the right foot so that is parallel to the left foot it is not touching the left but there is about an inch between the two feet it is not tag but a pass

  8. Put It All Together Repeat these steps with a metronome doing one step right next to the other with each beat of the metronome the metronome should be between 100-120 beats per minute with each move happening with each beat of the metronome

  9. Fluidness Now that you have this down it is time to put it all together and make it fluid * always start with the left so on the even beats you are using your right foot and the odd you use your left * Watch the movie to see more
