  3. Aims • Understand units and structure for my lessons • Be able to access tutor websites / Explain access to software at home • Be able to set up a blog and access cloud storage • Be able to post on your blog • Understand some of the basic principles of games design

Todays Objectives • Get logged in • Set up a google account(If you haven't already got one) • Set up your own blog(Blogger) • Access google drive • Introduce yourself to the world(Well the internet) • Create a glossary of the basic principles of games design • Write a article/review of a game you played over summer/recently

My Lesson:Unit 8 - Developing a game project • Until February • Understanding Game Design concepts such as the history of games, gaming platforms, storytelling along with key game design theory and terms. • Supporting your assignment work with Fiz, Amy and Josh. • Helping to get you ready for your final project • After February – The Final Project • Design, develop and test your final project for the year • Completed in Unreal Engine • Other Lecturers will then support this final unit in their lessons • This project will decide your final grade for the year. Pass, Merit or Distinction

Introduce your blog Create your first post on blogger and Introduce yourself You could write about: Your personality, interests, why you made this blog(Not because James told you too!), what you will be posting, why you love games, why you want a career in the games industry and what you hope to achieve over the two years of the course

  13. Principles of games design – Task 3Review a game using the task sheet Write a short introduction about 2-3 sentences that sums up the game and catches the reader's attention! Write things you really liked or really disliked. Be specific such as mentioning a map, a gameplay feature, a really annoying glitch etc. Include every concept of the game including the graphics, music, cinematics, story, content, controls, gameplay, and your own opinion. Use examples and references to back up your argument and give the reader an idea of what you are talking about. Try to avoid spoilers however. Write an ending paragraph. Sum it all up with an ending paragraph. Write a sentence about the game, list the pros and cons, and give a score.
