Smith Company, a certified small business, has a proud history dating back more than a century - and is a leader in producing Tactical Fuel and Water Distribution Systems, Hose, Hose Assemblies and Hose Accessories as well as Load Securing/Material Handling Products, primarily for military applications. Our value added services include assembly, light fabrication, welding, painting and testing. Our Past The company was founded in 1886 by William H. Smith and for decades occupied the W.H. Smith Hardware building in downtown Parkersburg, WV. In 1975, W. Vinton Rathbone purchased the company from William A. Smith, and in the 1980s moved the company to its current location on DuPont Road in Parkersburg. A New Era In April 2010, JWI Capital, LLC of Twinsburg, OH acquired W.H. Smith Company. Tactical Fuel & Water Distribution Forward Area Refueling Equipment • Components of a FARE: •  Pump Assembly (100 GPM/378.5 LPM) • Filter Separator (100 GPM/378.5 LPM) • Suction Hose Kit (6 Hoses, 2 Ground Rods & Container) • Hose & Component Kit-T Discharge • Hose & Component Kit-Y Discharge Operational Description: The Forward Area Refueling Equipment System is a lightweight expeditionary tactical fuel delivery system designed primarily to transfer fuel from 500 gallon (1892.5 liters) collapsible drums to helicopters in forward combat areas. In a secondary function the system can be used to refuel fixed wing aircraft and ground vehicles. The fuel nozzle will permit refueling of service aircraft or surface vehicles having either a gravity feed or closed circuit fuel system capability. Lastly a 4“ x 2“ (10.16 x 5.08 cm) adapter extends the equipment pumping capability to dispense fuel from a 10,000 gallon (37,850 liters) tank. W.H. Smith Company – Corporate Overview
