  1. Status Report: McMaster UniversityOct 1, 2017 to Sept 30, 2018Balraj Singh Department of Physics and AstronomyMcMaster University US-NDP-2018, NNDC, BNL Nov 8, 2018

  2. Nuclear Structure and Decay Data ENSDF: Dr. S. Pascu from Bucharest visited McMaster in July 2018 for 2 weeks to work on A=130. XUNDL: includes 32 mass measurement papers in primary journals, file available on Michael Smith’s webpage: nuclearmasses.org NSR: PRC: 12 issues: keywords: 1057 papers: 772 keyworded Topical evaluations and compilations: 1. Beta-delayed neutron emitters: Pn, T1/2 2. Update of Akovali’s 1998 r0 radius parameter for αdecay; also ALPHAD code revised to ALPHAD-RadD(r0 deduced in the code) 3.B(E2) for first 2+ and 4+ states in e-e nuclei 4. Update of 1998 Review of log ft values 5. Compilation of nuclear isomers of T1/2 ≥ 10 ns 6. Update of 2000 publication of Magnetic-rotational (shears) bands.

  3. Compilation and evaluation of Pn and half-lives of beta-delayed neutron emitters: IAEA-CRP (2012-2017): beginnings in 2011 IAEA-CRP for creating a Reference Database for microscopic and macroscopic quantities for beta-delayed neutron precursors. M. Birch, B. Singh, I. Dillmann, D. Abriola, T.D. Johnson, E.A. McCutchan, and A.A. Sonzogni, Evaluation of Beta-Delayed Neutron Emission Probabilities and Half-Lives for Z = 2-28 , NDS 128, 131-184 (2015). This paper dealt with about 220 B-n emitters. The Z=2-28 region will be revisited and updated in 2018-19 to include data from more recent literature since 2015. For Z>28 nuclides (410 nuclides): paper for NDS submitted May 2018: in review.

  4. Current status of half-life and Pn data

  5. beta-delayed neutron emitters Recommended standards for Pn Systematics: McCutchan et al (2012)

  6. Pn and half-lives of beta-delayed neutron emitters: systematics by atomic number

  7. Pn and half-lives of beta-delayed neutron emitters:uncertainties for half-lives and PnFrom: Iris Dillmann (TRIUMF)

  8. beta-delayed neutron emitters: ongoing experimental work at several labs ORNL+Valencia+TRIUMF+RIKEN (BRIKEN collaboration) Recent studies of neutron-rich nuclei at other labs CERN-ISOLDE RIBBL at Lanzhou NSCL-MSU CARIBU-ANL ISAC-TRIUMF IGISOL-JYFL

  9. Update of Akovali’s 1998 Table of r0 parameters for e-e alpha emitters (183 systems)ALPHAD code revised: ALPHAD-RadD

  10. Table of r0 parameters for alpha decaysNew 108Xe →104Te →100Sn chain : PRL 121, 182501 (Oct 30, 2018)

  11. Table of r0 parameters for alpha decays: July 2018

  12. Table of r0 parameters for alpha decays

  13. r0 parameters for alpha decays by atomic number

  14. ALPHAD-RadD code: available at IAEA-NDS web ALPHAD: for odd-A and odd-odd A nuclei: r0 radius parameter deduced manually from r0 parameters given for neighboring e-e nuclides. Also some minor bugs in the output report files: when I(alpha) field blank, and when unplaced alpha records present in .ens file. Tim Johnson and Sukhjeet Singh removed these bugs in the ALPHAD code in Dec 2017. In the ALPHAD-RadD code, made available in July 2018, r0 is computed by the code for odd-A and odd-odd cases, using the 2018 updated r0table for e-e nuclei.

  15. B(E2) for first 2+ and 4+ states in e-e nucleiB. Pritychenko (NNDC, BNL) and B. Singh (McMaster) B. Pritychenko, J. Choquette, M. Horoi, B. Karamy and B. Singh, An update of B(E2) evaluationfor 01+ to 21+ transitions in even-even nuclei near N~Z~28,ADNDT 98, 798-811 (2012). B. Pritychenko, M. Birch, B. Singh, and M. Horoi: Tables of E2 transition probabilities from the first 2+ states in even-even nuclei, ADNDT 107, 1-139 (2016): 456 nuclides Three other related papers in NP-A: 2016-2017 Work is now proceeding on the B(E2) and B(E4) values for the first 4+ states in e-e nuclei, ratios of B(E2) values for the first 4+ and first 2+ states, etc.: expected completion 2019.

  16. Update of 1998 Review of Log ft valuesKai Zuber and Steffen Turkat (Dresden), B. Singh (McMaster), Xavier Mougeot (Saclay) Extraction of beta records from ENSDF database of early Dec 2017 using IAEA-NDS LiveChart of Nuclides: Set A :  ~5000 log ft values with uncertainties and known spins and parities of parent and daughter levels. Set B:  ~13000  log ft with uncertainties but sometimes unknown spins and/or parities Set C:  ~5000  log ft without uncertainties and sometimes unknown spins and/or parities Set A will be used for review: we may run decay schemes through BetaShape code: to be discussed.

  17. Review of log ft values: allowed transitionsFrom Steffen Turkat (Dresden)

  18. Review of log ft values: forbidden transitionsFrom Steffen Turkat (Dresden)

  19. Compilation: Nuclear Isomers of T1/2 ≥ 10 ns A.K. Jain and Swati Garg (IIT, Roorkee, India), B. Singh Atlas of Nuclear Isomers, A.K. Jain et al., NDS 128, 1-130 (2015). Large number of downloads. Many articles on isomers have appeared since 2015, with discovery of new isomers, half-life measurements, level energies, decay modes, etc. Revision is in progress. Also discussing whether limit should be lowered to 1 ns. This will add another ~900 isomers.

  20. Compilation ofMagnetic rotational dipole (shears) bands: Sukhjeet Singh, B. Singh and A.K. Jain. Table of Magnetic Dipole Rotational Bands: Amita, A.K. Jain and B. Singh: Atomic Data and Nucl. Data Tables 74, 283 (2000). Updated 2006 version available on NNDC webpage. 2018 update is nearly complete with ~50 more bands in about 35 nuclides.

  21. Acknowledgements I am grateful to NNDC, BNL for financial support of ENSDF, XUNDL and NSR work at 0.72 FTE level during FY-2018, and, of course, in previous years since October 2013.
