Leveling Recommendations • Ninth grade core course levels are determined by the current 8th grade teachers and are indicated on the course selection card. • These levels are entered into the computer. • Levels will also be indicated on the Course Selection Verification Sheet that students receive in May, 2011. • Parents and students may either consult with their teacher and eighth grade counselor in June for reconsideration of the recommendation or proceed with an override letter if they wish to change the recommended level.

  11. High School Scheduling Worksheet Students that are scheduled for Music *Total credits scheduled must be between 6.0 and 7.0 credits.

Selecting Elective Courses • Students should review the listing of available elective course offerings listed on the backside of the course selection card. • In-depth descriptions of these courses are found in the High School Program of Studies. • Students will make 1-3 elective course selections. Either 1.0 credit elective of Foreign Language or Ceramics or two .5 credit electives. Students participating in the music program will also select the appropriate music electives. • Elective courses should be chosen with your graduation requirements in mind and based on your interest and future goals. • Elective courses that students select will be entered into the computer and will appear on your Course Selection Verification Sheet. Remember, these are only requests and not a guarantee that you will be placed in this class. Be sure to include “Alternate Selections” on your course selection card.

Promotion Requirements • Ninth Grade Minimum Credits Earned = 5.0 • Tenth Grade Minimum Credits Earned = 11.0 • Eleventh Grade Minimum Credits Earned = 17.0 • Total Credits to Graduate = 23.5 • Students will be placed in grade level homeroom according total credits earned prior to the start of the new school year.
