IB Diploma Programme IB Career-Relate Certificate Hardaway was one of 14 schools in the WORLD to pilot the IBCC Programme in 2011 Hardaway was the first authorized IBCC School in GA In the 2013-14 school year, there were only 36 schools in the US authorized to offer this new IB Programme. • Hardaway was authorized as an IB World School in 2002 • Hardaway was the first school in Southwest GA to offer IB • Hardaway is the ONLY school in Columbus authorized to offer IB Courses A quick History

IB Diploma Programme 6 Subject Groups: Language A: Literature Language Acquisition: Spanish, French, Latin Individuals and Societies: History, Business Science: Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Mathematics: Math Studies, Mathematics The Arts: Visual Arts, Theatre Arts, Music Core: Theory of Knowledge (TOK) Extended Essay (EE) Creativity, Action, and Service (CAS)

IB Career-related certificate Choice of 2 – 4 IB Subject Groups Career-Related Studies: Choice of 1 CTAE Pathway Construction Technology Healthcare JROTC – Army Marketing – Fashion Marketing – Sports and Entertainment Small Business Development CORE: Approaches to Learning (ATL) Reflective Project (RP) Language Development Community and Service Learning (CSL)

Must study 2 – 4 Diploma Courses No requirement on HL vs SL Must complete ATL Must complete RP Must complete CSL Must complete Language Development Must complete CTAE Pathway • Must study one course from each group (6 Diploma Courses) • Must have 3 HL courses and 3 SL courses • Must complete TOK • Must complete EE • Must complete CAS HOW Are they different?

Go home and discuss with your child the two programs. • Decide together what is the best decision for your child. • Complete the form you received when you came in and return it to Ms. Hampel • All forms should be turned into Ms. Hampel by March 28th.
