    4. High School High school usually runs either from grades 9-12 or from grades 10-12. All schools, including high schools, are provided by local school districts and not by the central government. High school students have more control of their education, even core classes.

    5. High School Curriculum Structure Most schools: 7-8 class short period ( 30-45 min) on daily schedule. Some have 3-4 class period (90 min) per day Many HS: "core" areas: English, science, social studies, and mathematics every year Other HS:  required number of credits after 10th grade, allowing more freedom in selection

    6. Science Courses Three science courses required generally Biology Chemistry Physics Other science courses include: Physical, life science, geology, anatomy, health science, environmental science, and forensic science.

    7. High School Mathematics Courses Typically include: Prealgebra Algebra I Geometry Algebra II Trigonometry Advanced study options can include Precalculus, calculus, statistics, and discrete math
